dc.description	Abstract: In his three March 1985 interviews with Laura Smail, David Featherman detailed his experiences in the Sociology Department at UW-Madison. Featherman, in particular, discussed his graduate education at Michigan and influence to study sociology. Included are Featherman?s thoughts on his time at Princeton, and the year he spent at the Center for Advanced Study in Stanford, 1978-79. Featherman also explains his work in the Rural Sociology Department at UW-Madison and his perception of the school, students, and faculty. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW?Madison Oral History Program.	en
