Abstract

Description

This thesis consists of 4 technical papers that present information that I collected while studying Broad-winged Hawks (Buteo platypterus) primarily in southcentral Lincoln County, Wisconsin, during 1976-81. The first paper, "Nesting Biology of Broad-winged Hawks in Wisconsin", was prepared for publication in Raptor Research. The second paper, "Food Habits of Broad-winged Hawks at a Nest in Wisconsin", was submitted (March 1983) to the Journal of Field Ornithology. "Unusual Nest Sanitation by a Broad-winged Hawk", the third paper, was published (1982) in the Wilson Bulletin (94:365-366). The fourth paper, "Sprig Collection by a Broad-winged Hawk", was published (1982) in Raptor Research (16:63).
