Abstract
Validation studies address how comparable intelligence instruments are in the cognitive abilities they assess. Results derived from validation studies are used to make inferences as to how instruments are similar and how they differ regarding the abilities they are designed to measure. The purpose of this study is to conduct a validation study between two widely used intelligence instruments. This study will compare the Woodcock Johnson-III Tests of Cognitive Ability and the Differential Ability Scales. It is expected that convergent validity will be established between similar measures of each battery, whereas it is expected that discriminant validity will be established between dissimilar abilities within each instrument.
