| dc.description | It is the purpose of this study to examine the labor-management relations at the Kohler Company in the period 1873-1941, with a major focus on the 1920s and 1930s. This study will trace the growth and development of the Kohler Company as it relates to the company's labor policy. An examination of Kohler's policy of "enlightened paternalism" with regard to resulting labor-management relations will be presented. Worker discontent and attempts at organizing a union will be examined. The factors relating to the creation, growth, and death of Federal Labor Union No. 18545 will be studied. | en_US |
