Abstract

Description

These files include drafts and related documents from the mid-1990s for a grant from the UW System's Undergraduate Teaching Improvement Council to plan a collaborative women's studies major across interested campuses through use of distance learning technology. The proposal title is "Using Distance Education to Implement a Collaborative Major and Improve Course Access in Women’s Studies: A Pilot Program." Among the goals: to pilot test a collaborative Women's Studies major at five University of Wisconsin institutions: UW Green Bay, UW-Parkside, UW-Steven's Point, UW-Platteville, and the UW Center System where it is currently not available, and to give UW-Whitewater students the opportunity to enroll in a broader range of Women's Studies courses. The Women’s Studies Administrators involved in the project: Margaret Rozga, UW-Centers; Mary Kay Schleiter, UW-Parkside; Kathy Winz; UW-Platteville; Nancy Bayne, UW-Stevens Point; Sandra Stokes, UW-Green Bay; Star Olderman, UW-Whitewater.Kay Taube, UW-Extension served as consultant.
