Abstract
Harry Gatos spoke with Robert Cole on October 9, 1986, about his relationship with Verne Powell and visiting his shop. Gatos provided detailed anecdotes about meeting Powell and buying a flute from him. He also discusses stress corrosion cracking and the scientific explanation as to how it caused Brannan Brothers flute head joints to pop. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the Powell Flutes Oral History Project of the UW-Madison Archives & Records Management oral history collection.
