Abstract

Description

Abstract: In her 2013 interview, Dineen Grow, head of Access Services at Memorial Library, discussed the history of her career in the University of Wisconsin-Madison General Library System. Grow detailed the evolution of her work at Memorial Library from her first job vacuuming books to her current position. Grow compares the manual labor of her early career to today?s current processing and reference duties. Grow expresses her concerns for Memorial Library as more positions are cut due to budget constraints and the increased reliance on student workers. Grow also discussed teaching in continuing education and the Celtic Studies Program, while working fulltime. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW?Madison Oral History Program.
