dc.description.abstractAn essential component of reading instruction is motivation. This study explored the impact of peer book discussion on motivation in reading in a fourth grade classroom in a rural community. Participants were engaged in three different types of peer book discussion within their classroom. These three book discussions were, reading buddies, booktalk posters, and informal book chats. Findings indicated that participants? desire to read and share what they have read with others increased.en
