Computer aided analysis of the backwater rehabilitation of Weaver Bottoms (Pool 5, Upper Mississippi River) / impacts on nursery habitat

Abstract

Rehabilitation of riverine backwaters has become a major issue on the Upper Mississippi River (UMR), but little data are available to evaluate the effects of proposed modifications on fish nursery habitat. This study was designed to identify nursery habitats within Weaver Bottoms, Pool 5 of the UMR, and to apply computer modeling techniques to predict impacts of modifications.
