Abstract
The intention of this research is to approach a framework that prioritizes sustained engagement within the truancy intervention model. Implementing long-term case management ensures that students and families receive some kind of ongoing support rather than short-term or one-time. For programs to show effectiveness, they must address the root causes of truancy. A holistic approach and collaborative approaches show more promise than isolated disciplinary efforts. The application of theories including social learning theory and wraparound theory will help support the recommendations. This will contribute to the existing body of research with academic inquiry to evaluate the effectiveness of sustained truancy interventions. The goal is to help bridge the gap between academic research and frontline practice.
