Abstract
Half of the interview is conducted in Spanish. Dougherty was influenced by his latino grandfather to study Latin American culture and Spanish and then go off to the Peace Corps. He then met his wife Rocio Peralta while serving in Guatemala from 2002 to 2004. She then moved back to the US and married Dougherty.
