The Ferns and Fern Allies of Ozaukee County, Wisconsin

Abstract

This is a study of some ferns and fern allies of Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. A general discussion of the structure and reproductive patterns of the plant phylum, pteridophyta, is presented. Eleven species of ferns and five species of fern allies vere collected, pressed, identified and mounted on herbarium paper. Photographs of these specimens may be found in Chapte- III. A general description of each family and its genera is provided., A detailed description of each species collected in Ozaukee County is included.
