Abstract
In her 2025 interview with Edwin Elizabeth Thomas, Kelly Ward discusses her role as an assistant professor in UW-Madison’s Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS) Department. She speaks to how the department has evolved since her joining in 2020, particularly the conversations unfolding around teaching during the pandemic. Ward also touches on the value of a GWS education and her hopes for the department’s future. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the GWS @ 50 Oral History Project of the UW-Madison Archives & Records Management oral history collection.
