Abstract
Acrylamide (2-propeneamide) is a manufactured chemical used as a flocculant, papermaking aid, and
thickener, and as an additive to enhance oil recovery. Acrylamide enters the aquatic environment
principally in the effluents from industrial processes. It is highly soluble in water.
