Abstract
Description
In his five 2009/10 interviews with Bob Lange, Gerry Campbell chronicles the connections between his youth in rural Ohio, his formative educational experiences at Ohio State, New Mexico State, and Michigan State, and his service and teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from the 1940s to the late 2000s. He shared insights about farm life; his growing value for education; the development of UW-Extension over time; perceptions of research, teaching and learning; the transformation of technology; and the internal dynamics of UW administration. He specifically shared anecdotes about a number of important people in the life of UW-Madison, especially UW-Extension, during his tenure there. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
