Abstract: In her November 2007 interview with Sandy Pfahler, Barbara Knutson describes her work for the General Library System of the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the 40 years beginning in 1967 and also work she did as student employee two years before that. She outlines dramatic changes that have occurred in technical services over her 40 year career, as technology and computerization were introduced. She also talks about her experiences during the strike of the Wisconsin State Employees Union and campus unrest due to Vietnam War. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
