Abstract

Before coming to Stout in 1941, he was a professor of psychology and education at Kansas Wesleyan University. Earlier he had served as school superintendent in Wymont, Neb., and at Dodge, Neb. He also spent two summers doing graduate work at the University of Wisconsin--Madison. In all, Dr. Oetting's teaching career spanned 41 years. He served as the first Dean of the School of Education at Stout. During his tenure here he organized and developed the School of Education, and was responsible for its curriculum and program of professional courses leading to degrees in several teaching majors. Upon retirement he was named Dean Emeritus of the School of Education at Stout.
