Abstract
In her 2012 interview with Jackie Bolduan, Laurie Beauchamp talks about her experiences in the conservative communities of Ironwood, Michigan and Green Bay, Wisconsin. She describes the spaces lesbians occupy in Green Bay and her experiences being out in Ironwood Michigan in the 1980s. She also talks about the community she has found at Union Congregational UCC Church in Green Bay. She discusses the following topics: The evolution of Positive Voice, Green Bay’s Gay Bar scene, the community response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the open and affirming process of the local UCC Church in the late 90s, and the PrideAlive festival of Green Bay.
