Abstract

The Gingerich lab has previously identified LRB1 and LRB2 genes as important regulators of red light signaling in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. In order to better understand how LRB1 and LRB2 act in this pathway, Dr. Gingerich conducted a yeast two-hybrid screen to identify LRB-interacting proteins. We wished to determine if these TCP proteins have a role in red light signaling. This was done by identifying Arabidopsis thaliana plants with TCP genes disrupted by T-DNA insertions. Then these mutants were tested for alterations in red light growth responses.
