dc.description	In his April 2011 interview with Brian Sonnentag, John Bechtol explained his duties and the procedures concerning student veterans at UW-Madison as the Dean of Veterans Affairs. John talked about what the university?s policies were prior to his arrival in 2008 and what changes he implemented since his arrival. He also talked about ways that the university can still improve its veterans relations. Other Topics covered include: the Post 9/11 GI Bill, student transitions, communication while on active duty, procedures for service member activation, relationships with other campuses, future activities, and some of the difficulties involved with a larger university. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.	en
