Abstract

This project analyzed the function of restrictive clauses in the languages of French, German, and English, comparing usage and logic through linguistic and historical research. The investigation focused on various authentic texts, native to each language, from the 17th century to the present along with a field study of modern native speakers. The research provided evidence that "fuzzy" agreement is indeed occurring in all ages and multiple languages.
