Most of the materials in this collection relate to Rathke's tenure as chair of the English Department. Also included is information concerning her involvement in governance and course development.

Description

Mary Jo Rathke received her undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Teresa and her masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She first came to Stout as an instructor in 1959. For three of her years at Stout, Rathke was chair of the English Department, from the late 1960s-Spring 1971. While at Stout, she developed proposed programs in Industrial Communications, Technical Writing, and in the teaching of Communications Skills. She retired in 2000.
