Launching New Employees: An Onboarding Program

Abstract

Head Municipalities of Duhok a governmental office in northern Iraq has experienced continuous growth over the last decade leading to an increase in employment. Without an onboarding training program, receiving new employees and having them perform efficiently has become a challenge that reduced the organization’s overall performance. Hence, the focus of this study was two-fold: first to identify best practices supported by literature, and second to design an effective onboarding training program that creates a positive experience and equips the new employee with skill, knowledge and ability to be productive in the organization.
