Abstract
Sixteen male college students (X= 21.5) completed both a submaximal
upright and supine bicycle exercise protocol. Progressive workloads of 200, 400, 600, and 800 KPM were completed twice by each subject for each test condition. The order of testing was randomized so that half of the subjects performed first in the upright position, while the remaining half performed first in the supine position. The pedal speed, exercise protocol, and ergometer were identical for each test.
