dc.descriptionIn her 2009 interview with Emma Schroeder, Margot Garcia shares her memories about the Eagle Heights Community Garden during the 1960s when Garcia and her husband were graduate students at UW. Garcia recalls her memories advocating for new land grants for the gardens, growing a variety of crops, irrigation, the relevance of community garden projects to various communities, canning vegetables, the use of fertilizers and pesticides, raising children in the Eagle Heights community, and relationships with other residents. This interview was conducted for inclusion in a Master?s thesis on the Eagle Heights Community Gardens.en
