A particle fluid model, first recommended by von Neumann for the study of shock waves, is reformulated and implemented. A particular fluid is constructed by the computer and is shown to have such basic physical properties as buoyancy and expansion due to heating. Examples of convective motion, free surface flow, and wave generation are given.en_US
