This thesis examines the evolution of function concepts within the Illustrative Mathematics (IM) curriculum, focusing on how these concepts are introduced, developed, and assessed from Grade 8 through secondary school. By analyzing curriculum materials, instructional strategies, and student outcomes, this study aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of the IM approach in fostering a deep understanding of functions among high school students.
