dc.description.abstractData from the 1997 and 1999 National Survey of America's Families on the employment patterns and child care choices of mothers with preschool children (under age 5) were analyzed for families with low-income (at less than 150 percent of the federal poverty level), mid-range income (at 150-299 percent of poverty), and upper-range income (at 300 percent or more of poverty).
