Abstract
The Fort Ord military training facility in Monterey Bay, California, was closed in 1994. A 6.4km section within the former base was designated as Fort Ord Dunes State Park in 2009. The purpose of this study was to investigate the
internal stratigraphy of the coastal dune complex and the cultural impacts of the abandoned military base.
