It is a formidable task to distill one hundred and fifty years of campus history in a comprehensive paper, but this is exactly what we have tried to accomplish. Through an examination of the built landscape of the University of Wisconsin student housing as well as a look at the way student life has changed over the years, we have chosen two main topics in which to study the way the campus and its residents have changed over the years. Using our research into these two things, we constructed numerous time geography diagrams, a clear and concise way of expressing graphically the way these two factors work together to determine the way a student moves through the landscape. With these diagrams and all of the supporting evidence, we provide a convincing case for the important role the built landscape of the University Wisconsin Residence Halls, and the way this landscape has changed over the years, in expanding and lengthening the paths of the typical student.en
