Abstract
The collection reflects the responsibility of the Assistant Chancellor for Administrative Services including annual reports, audits, correspondence, notes, and miscellaneous reports.
Description
In the early history of Stout, the Business Manager had responsibility for all business affairs of the institution. As Stout grew, the business responsibilities also grew dramatically in complexity. In 1964, the Business Manager was placed as one of a four-person team of control directly under the president with the title of Director of Business Affairs. Moving to reorganize several service functions of the university in 1971, the Business Affairs division merged with other functions and the office of the Vice President for Administrative Services was formed. In 1972, the title was changed to Assistant Chancellor for Administrative Services.
The Assistant Chancellor for Administrative Services is responsible for financial recording, budget preparation and control, coordinating long range resource planning, receipt administration, custody of all funds, purchasing, internal auditing, contracts, payroll, business management, auxiliary enterprises, physical plant planning and construction, maintenance and operation of the physical plant, institutional, research, data processing services and systems, safety, insurance, and the administration of non-academic personnel.
