Abstract

Description

This study will describe the critical approach taken by the critics writing film reviews for Ms. magazine, will examine the problems and possibilities of their approach, and will locate their approach within general feminist critical theory. This study also attempts to identify the historical progression of critical trends in Ms. which might might reflect the changing perspective of feminists and predict what is to come. Such prediction might be useful because, if feminist perspectives become more frequently reflected in criticism, they may also become more frequently reflected in art. Feminism may ultimately have an impact upon aesthetic concepts.
