| dc.description.abstract | Pronouns are what we use to replace nouns. They come in first, second, and third person and can be singular or plural. Today's English only has one second person pronoun, but that wasn't always the case. There was a distinct difference between the two pronouns in Middle and Early Modern English. The purpose of this study was to gain a deeper level of understanding by examining the Early Modern English pay The Witch, written by Thomas Middleton, to compare the implementation of the two second-person pronouns that were used during the period: thou and you. | en |
