Oral History Interview: Mary Rouse (1284)

Abstract

In this 2012 interview, Christine Haas, along with Joe Elder and Molly Aquino, interview Mary Rouse about her time as an employee of UW-Madison, especially concerning her role as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Rouse discusses how the landscape of LGBTQ+ acceptance and inclusivity has evolved during her time as an employee, how her programming has helped include LGBTQ+ and marginalized people more into university life, and what she envisions as needed change for the university. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison LGBTQ+ Oral History Program.
