Description

In her June 2012 interview with Christine Haas, Mary Rouse tells of her childhood in upstate New York. She talks about her college experience, meeting her husband and how she began her career at UW-Madison. She details the campus climate from the mid 60?s through 2012. She explains her experiences of diversity involvement with the lesbian and gay community as well as people of color. She details her various job titles, descriptions of her duties, campus activities, her sister?s life and death, Sickle cell anemia, and democracy. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
