| dc.description.abstract | This action learning activity contains an overview of the history of giftedness from the mid 19th century to the present which outlines the achievements of gifted students. Since many districts have no gifted programs, teachers become responsible for challenging and guiding the gifted learner. Activities for this project are based on a review of educational materials and on discussions with teachers and children. Selected activities require no additional materials to be purchased, allow students a choice of approaches, and to share his or her knowledge in areas that many children have an interest. The activities are for grades 4, 5 and 6 and cover science, social studies, language arts and the fine arts. | en |
