Abstract
The project is do philosophy in film, rather than philosophy about film, by making a film that is genuinely philosophical. We dramatize the conflict between the Apollonian and Dionysian forces in Nietzche's Birth of Tragedy, arguing cinematically that a well-lived life and good art require balancing these opposing forces rathe than embracing one at the expense of the other.
