Department History Project: 1997-2005

Abstract

The objective of this project is to delve into the lives of several alumni as well as the experience of UW-Stout psychology students in general from our assigned era, 1997-2005. In the initial section, there is information on each alumnus regarding their experiences during their time at the university and their subsequent endeavors post-graduation. Through the research of their involvement at UW-Stout we aimed to gain valuable insights into their journeys and the impact of their psychology education. In the second section we look at the contextual factors of psychology students during this time which includes exploring the subdisciplines introduced in their education, the significant researchers and topics of the era, as well notable events that occurred locally and throughout the nation. The last part of this project will involve the reflection of the changes throughout the entire history of UW-Stout psychology students and their experiences, the psychological field as a whole, as well as what we’ve learned conducting this research.
