In his five 2015 interviews (conducted in April and May) with Troy Reeves, Rogers Hollingsworth offered an overview of his early years, from his upbringing to his position at UW and his career at UW/UW-Madison. Hollingsworth also discussed the story behind most, if not all, of his published monographs. Hollingsworth discussed from the 1940s to 2015 and the following topics: Anniston, AL, segregation, racism, Emory University, Fulbright scholarship, the University of Chicago, William McNeill, Daniel Boorstin, Walter Johnson, the University of Wisconsin-Madison History Department, Alan Bogue, Philip Curtin, the Vietnam Era at UW, Fred Harvey Harrington, area studies, Nigeria, the Society for Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE), and lecturing at foreign universities.
