Abstract
Description
This thesis consists of 4 technical papers which
focus on management of muskrat and mink harvests at
Horicon Marsh Wildlife Area (HMWA), Wisconsin. The
first two papers, "Factors Affecting Muskrat Harvests
at a State-owned Fur Farm in Wisconsin", and "Factors
Affecting State and Local Mink Harvests in Wisconsin"
examine historical harvest data collected by the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR).
"Demography of an Exploited Muskrat Population at
Horicon Marsh, Wisconsin" and "Aging Muskrats in North
America with Molar Index" present data collected during
field studies at HMWA from 1984 through 1986. All 4
papers are written in the style of the Wildlife Society
Bulletin.
