The Workshop was sponsored by the Division of Design, Manufacture, and Industrial Innovation (DMII) of the National Science Foundation. The goal of this workshop was to bring together researchers in the manufacturing processes and equipment communities to identify research needs and future directions. The results of the workshop will be helpful to the DMII Manufacturing Processes and Equipment Systems Cluster of programs as it continues to evolve programs that support relevant research that bring about manufacturing innovations that impact our economy and society.en
