Abstract
Description
In her 2013 interview with Paul Becket, Jo Ellen Fair (JEF) describes her working class Indiana family background and her motivations to pursue a university education and graduate study at Purdue and the University of Indiana. Fair arrived at the UW-Madison in 1999 and quickly became involved in reforming campus policies on maternity leave and spousal hires. JEF describes her role as an Africanist, friends in the African Studies Program, research in Africa, and her involvement in the Chadbourne Residential College, the Global Studies Program, and as director of the International Studies Major.
