Abstract

Due to the increasing amount of diversity in U.S. schools, teachers need to be prepared to work effectively with racial and cultural backgrounds different than their own. To accomplish this goal, pre-service teachers at University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire sought to gain an understanding of the Somali culture in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by taking part in an intercultural immersion.
