Abstract
The recent surge of silica (frac) sand mining in Wisconsin has affected local social fabrics, landscapes, and economies. In many counties, the County Board Supervisors are responsible for permitting these mines. Because of the critical role played by these board members, we created a survey to assess their perceptions and levels of knowledge concerning silica sand mining.
