Abstract

This study discusses the impact of bullying and what preventative measures that school officials have used to eliminate bullying behaviors in American schools. Over the years, there has been a major concern in the United States regarding bullying and its overall negative effects on the students who are being victimized by it. The types of bullying behaviors and methods students use will be examined as well as measures and tools that school districts have used to eradicate the bullying behaviors. With mental and emotional health of students becoming more of focus in schools, there has been more demand from communities, parents, and officials to address improving the overall climates within school. With that advent of social media and other technological tools, students are using different and unique methods to engage in bullying behaviors. However, research shows that school districts are implementing more effective interventions and supports to improve student behavior and reduce bullying behavior.
