Abstract
In their 2016 interview with Pat Calchina, emerita professors Mariamne Whatley and Nancy Worcester talk about their separate experiences working in women's health advocacy before joining the faculty of Women's Studies at UW-Madison. They both taught courses on women's health, sexual health, and women's psychology, and helped establish an LGBT studies certificate program. They discuss the lesbian community in Madison in the 1980s, their continued work in advocacy and community organizing around issues of women and LGBT health, and the unique situation of working as out lesbian professors. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Archives and Records Management Oral History Program as part of the LGBTQ+ oral history project.
