Abstract

Description

In her 2009 interview with Emma Schroeder, Margaret Dentine shares her memories about the Eagle Heights Community Garden and her experiences as registrar. Dentine shares her insights about various sub-communities that formed in the gardens, international residents, the produce and flowers grown, and workshops to help new gardeners. Dentine comments on tensions between gardening styles, weed juries, garden boundaries, and pesticide use vs. the organic growing movements. Schroeder and Dentine also talk about the various kinds of residents and individuals that became a regular presence in the area. This interview was conducted for inclusion in a Master?s thesis on the Eagle Heights Community Gardens.
