Abstract

This investigation is part of a broader body of research underway in the Lower Chippewa River Valley (LCRV) of west-central Wisconsin. The LCRV is dominated by sandy texture alluvial and glaciofluvial sediments. The purposes of our investigation are: determine whether these conical hills and ridges are eolian dunes, propose a possible mechanism for their genesis, and explain variations in soil morphology across these landforms.
