Morris Fromkin, a Milwaukee and New York attorney, was a lifelong supporter of individuals and movements seeking social justice. He devoted much of his time to providing free legal assistance to immigrants, the poor, and the needy. After his death in 1969, his family established a specialized research collection at UWM and a continuing program of research and scholarship that continues to a public understanding of social justice issues. The UWM Libraries inaugurated the Morris Fromkin Memorial Lecture series in 1970. Collection includes posters, typescripts of the lectures, and streaming video of the actual presentations.
